Dog Lake and Mount Reynolds

This hike was a last minute idea after a long night. I was not well prepared. Everything turned out okay, but my phone battery was basically dead so I didn’t take a ton of pictures. What you see is what you get.

Hike

The hike up to Dog Lake was easy and pretty. I came from the Big Cottonwood Canyon side. It meanders around the mountain and through a canyon. Dog Lake was pleasant. I’m assuming you can bring your dog up to the lake from the Millcreek Canyon side because there were a bunch of dogs up there. I was kinda jealous of all the dogs playing in the water on a hot day. The last bit of the hike up to Reynold’s Peak was pretty steep and a bit overgrown. It took me a few minutes to find the right trail (it’s through/behind the campsites on the southwest side of Dog Lake). Great views from the top.

Drink

This beer was delicious. Good, simple flavor. Really refreshing. Plus, it was called Trail Beer. I like things that make sense. Well done 10 Barrel Brewing Company.

Can you spot Dog Lake down there? The edge is just visible.
Earned It
Earned this beer. It was almost 100 degrees.
Beer on Mount Reynolds
Just a picture of my beer on top of Mount Reynolds with the “official” records (in the ammo can). I thought it was funny the beer was called Trail Beer.
